hurricane helene studio update
UPDATE OCTOBER 16: THE STUDIO WILL REOPEN OCTOBER 21, 2024. BOOK YOUR FALL/WINTER SESSIONS NOW.
———————————-
Hello friends,
Thank you for your messages of support and love during this difficult time for our community. As you have probably heard by now, Hurricane Helene hit Asheville as a tropical storm on Thursday, September 26th. To say we have been devastated by this once-in-a-1,000-years event is an understatement. The Echo Mountain team is safe, and their families and pets are safe. Our city and Western North Carolina as a region have experienced critical losses: lives, homes, businesses, livelihoods. Many neighborhoods are still without power, water, Wifi, food, fuel, other resources and cell phone access.
Our studio, located downtown, was fortunately spared from any structural damages. However, we currently do not have any running water, so the studio is closed to sessions and the public during this time.
For those of you who have booked sessions with us in October and November, we will reach out to you to discuss any rescheduling needs.
We are open to booking future sessions starting November 1st onward, and depending on the water repair timeline, will work with you to ensure your dates and your experience are solid.
In the meantime, our staff is supporting each other and our community through various relief efforts and action on the ground here in Asheville and the surrounding areas.
Are you a WNC creative who has been impacted by Hurricane Helene? Visit ArtsAVL’s support page to learn about and receive support specifically for you!
We will share more information as we are able to, and keep you posted when we reopen.
with love,
The Echo Mountain crew
