A NEW CHAPTER FOR ECHO MOUNTAIN
Big things are in the works! We are beyond excited to announce a new destination studio from Echo Mountain Recording. Sitting on top of 60 plus acres, including sweeping mountain views, trails, and creek access, the new facility will be located just north of Asheville, in Marshall, North Carolina.
Since 2003, we’ve called the Church and adjacent studios our home. It has been an honor to help bring new music and work into the world by local and national artists. Our last recording sessions here in our downtown studio will take place in September 2025, and then we’ll close this place down to move to our new property north of Asheville. We are slated to open the new studios at the beginning of 2026.
If you want to book a session in our downtown studio, make sure you contact us as soon as possible to reserve your ideal dates!
The new property will be an eco-conscious music studio that will be a sanctuary that will accommodate artists, songwriters, large scale recording sessions, audiobooks, and television/film projects to do their best creative work.
“I’m really excited about this new chapter for Echo Mountain,” says owner Steve Wilman. “We have loved being downtown, but this gives us an opportunity to create a different experience for artists where they can immerse themselves in a great space surrounded by nature. There are some things I want to do differently this time, like using as much renewable energy as possible to power the studio."
Many of you have asked us what will happen to this space after we move. The property has been sold to GBX Group, and they placed a historical easement on the church building, which is located within the 2011 extension of Asheville's Downtown Historic District. Aside from that, we do not know what will happen to the existing studio (nor do we have any influence over that).
Our groundbreaking is quickly arriving this summer, and we can’t wait to show you progress photos and videos.
